What is the Destination of Excellence label?
The Destination of Excellence label is the official French government label for quality tourism. Managed by Atout France, the French tourism development agency, it has replaced the old brand since May 2024 Quality Tourism.
It rewards tourism stakeholders who commit to two demanding pillars:
- The quality of the welcome and services : accommodation, restaurants, leisure facilities, transport, tourist information…
- Eco-responsibility : particular attention paid to the environmental impact of the proposed activities
In other words, it is not a label that one awards oneself. It is awarded after evaluation by independent bodies, according to strict standards.
